Arguments with Humor

I found this cartoon and used it as my example for humor. It does not even have words, but gets its point across as clearly as possible. I thought it was humorous, but definately within the proper bounds, not anything crude or very offensive. It can't be denied by anyone for or against Obama that he goes overboard on his "decorations" and turns his speeches into a spectacle. The artist plays on the second coming of Christ, which is prophesied to be the beginning of the end of the world. i believe this would be considered satire over parody because it is using humor to "unmask' the issue that election funding is going to a fireworks show for the spectators.

That is such a creative cartoon. I really like the ideas of it. It is so true about Obama and all if is decorations. I like the twist on christ too. It just adds the little bit more humor without ruining it.

(That is a funny cartoon you blogged about) But about the one you made - I could definitely tell what you were trying to say with it immediately. Good job!! Oh and by the way you're such a good artist!

I thought the cartoon you drew and showed in class today was very effective. Although I was unaware of Obama's abortion after birth rule, I still understood the cartoon. I, in no way, found the cartoon offensive and thought you did a great job.

Your cartoon you made was very well done. You drew it so well and it was so clear and easy to recognize. I think maybe add a tagline at the bottom to say exactly what Obama is doing. But great job though.

Your cartoon was really good! You're a great artist and your point was very clear. I agree that maybe a tagline could make it even better. Great job!

I like your cartoon alot. I think the sistine chapel reference works well and so does Obama's evil face. There really is nothing to suggest because its really good.

This is a great cartoon. I am surprised that I have not been hearing more about this. I thought it would be a big issue. Hits the point fast and effective, so great work.

Great drawing, and good point. My only question is when you were explaining it you talked about after birth abortion, i think you meant partial birth abortion (which is only legal in a few states). After birth abortion is completely illegal in the U.S., but if you meant partial birth abortion, then your right Obama does supported it, and then your cartoon makes perfect sense. Other than that really good job.

Your cartoon was extremely well drawn, but without hearing your explanation, I do not think your audience will know exactly what is going on. You may want to put a caption, but overall well done!

Very clever cartoon. However, I was a bit confused as to the point. I understood it when you spoke on abortions, but when I look at it I'm not sure. Putting God into the drawing made me think: no God in school, or no God in government, or no God to "corrupt my children." I would just say to try to make it clear.
